Dr. Philip Huang, D.O., M.A., received a bachelors and masters degree from Tulane University in New Orleans. During that time he studied biology and Spanish.  He received his medical degree from Midwestern University in Chicago, Illinois, where he also completed his residency training in orthopedic surgery. After residency, he went on to complete additional training, taking a fellowship in adult reconstructive surgery including hip and knee replacement and revision surgery at Scripps Clinic in San Diego, CA, which is routinely ranked by U.S. News World Reports as a top hospital for orthopedics in the country and #1 in San Diego.

He cares for all general orthopedic issues, but specializes in the treatment of hip and knee arthritis as well as failed total joint replacements. Dr. Huang uses the latest technology and minimally invasive techniques for hip and knee replacement including the direct anterior and mini-posterior approaches to the hip. He also performs hip and knee preservation operations including cartilage transplantation, osteotomies, and partial joint replacements.

Dr. Huang has authored a number of publications and won several research awards on a variety of topics related to hip and knee replacement and has a special research interest in factors affecting patient outcomes after total joint replacement.

Dr. Huang is currently the medical director of the Center for Joint Health at Community Howard Regional Hospital, and also an assistant clinical professor at Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Huang takes great pride in caring for his patients and individualizing treatment plans for each patient’s specific needs and circumstances.

In his spare time, he enjoys golf, traveling, running, and spending time with his wife and kids.
